I was first diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder back in 2017, and ever since then I have tried my best to recover. Over the years I have tried many things, like diet, exercise, and supplements. However, as modern science doesn’t understand mental illness, let’s go to the one who does.
There is only one way to recover from mental illness, and it involves Jesus Christ.
Back in October 2024, I had reached my mental limit. I was living at a nursing home for the elderly and I was stuck. I literally couldn’t get out of bed by nine in the morning. Mentally, my brain had given up. I was done. After 7 years of non-stop suffering, I couldn’t function anymore. And it seemed hopeless.
To get myself out of this situation, this dead end, I turned to God. I tried something that I learned from Derek Prince in his book, “Secrets of a Prayer Warrior.”
Simply put, I prayed over the music. Before I listened to music, I prayed “Lord please heal me through this music.” And then, in faith, I listened to the music believing that it was healing me. And guess what, it worked!
The next day I was able to function better and could actually show up for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I prayed over music for the next two weeks, before leaving the nursing home and moving into supported living.
There’s only one solid way to make a full recovery from mental illness, and according to Nick Griemsmann, it takes one year. If you believe in God and are born again, it should only take you one year of consistent prayer to make a full recovery from your mental illness.
I try to pray everyday, and as soon as I start praying (in faith) I can feel sensations in my brain as it is healing. So, in theory, if you prayed for one hour everyday, it should only take you one year, more or less, before you are fully healed. And this is one of my goals. I read Nick’s book a few months ago before doing something that I already knew worked: faith brings healing.
Jesus said, “Everything is possible for one who believes” – Mark 9:23
And he literally says that if your faith is great enough, it can move mountains.
Jesus is the answer for mental illness. And if you are experiencing voices, try praying them away and command them to leave you in the name of Jesus. According to Nick, it works. And it will work for you too.
All it takes is faith.
